Today students continued to work on their Document-Based Assessment. It is up to the students to finish the DBA either during independent study or in class after the test. Students were also given a study guide to complete for homework, as well as the KIM chart on their notes. Test is Thursday.

Today we discussed the features of Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal, including bank reforms and Social Security, federal work programs, environmental protection programs, farm assistance programs, and increased rights for labor. Students now have all the notes they need for their test next Thursday!

Today we discussed the causes of the Great Depression, including over-speculation on stocks, the lack of action from the Federal Reserve, and the failure of tariffs to curb the Depression. We also discussed the effects of the Great Depression, including the closing of banks and business, unemployment, homelessness, and low wages for farmers, especially during the Dust Bowl.

Today we discussed stocks and the stock market, including its impact on investors and the economy as a whole. Students participated in a stock market simulation in order to better understand how the stock market operates.
