Welcome to 8th Grade Physical Science!

Physical Science focuses on a more in-depth understanding of the nature and structure of matter, as well as the characteristics of energy.  Major areas include the periodic table, physical and chemical changes, nuclear reactions, thermodynamics, sound, electromagnetic spectrum, electricity, magnetism, work, force, and motion.  Laboratory investigations build skills of systematic investigation with a clear focus on variables, repeated trials, data collection and analysis. While engaging in science practices, students inherently learn, practice and develop their communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and citizenship skills.

Mr. Trout

My name is Mr. Trout and I will be your Physical Science teacher this year. This will be my second year teaching here at Woodbridge Middle School. I received my undergraduate degree in Planetary Science and Astronomy from the Pennsylvania State University and my master degree in Secondary Education from the University of Mary Washington. I am excited to meet and get to know everyone as we support and help each other in having a successful academic year!
