4/27/2020: The WMS Counseling Department sent out course request forms for the 2020-2021 school year on Friday, April 24th. Students should have received an email with a link to complete the form. All forms are due by May 15, 2020. Please contact your Counselor or our Counseling Director, Ms. Merica at mericake@pwcs.edu, if you have any questions or concerns. 

4/20/2020: The WMS Counseling Department will be sending out information this week to students and families about how to complete the course request process from the 20-21 school year online. Stay tuned!


4/14/2020: The Counseling Department has office hours on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's as part of the Virtual School House Schedule. Please feel free to reach out and check in through email with your counselor.  


3/17/2020:  If any student is in need of emotional support during this stressful time, he/she can email
studentsupportservices@pwcs.edu to receive virtual support. Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) will have counselors and other school-based mental health staff respond to any student who needs assistance. PWCS cares deeply about our students’ emotional well-being during their time away from school, and we want you to know that we are only an email away.

Rising 6th Grade Student/Parent Scheduling Workshop (Event Canceled)

Future Seminoles and their parents are invited to attend a scheduling workshop at Woodbridge Middle School on March 18th.  We are offering two session times to allow students and parents some flexibility.  You will only need to attend one of the sessions.  Each session will introduce parents and students to the course offerings at the middle school level. Students and parents will then be able to complete course request registration for the 2020-2021 school year.  The information will be offered in both English and Spanish.

March 18, 2020

Session 1: 4 pm to 5:30 pm

Session 2: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

Students who are unable to attend will have the opportunity to complete the course  request process at their elementary school at a later date.  Please contact the WMS Counseling Department with any questions at 703-494-3181.  We look forward to working with our future Seminoles to prepare them for the 2020-2021 school year.

7th Grade Academic and Career Plan

Signs of Suicide- November 6 and 7, 2019

Woodbridge Middle School Counselors will present Signs of Suicide programming to all 7th grade students. 

If you do not wish for your child to participate in the SOS Middle School program, please indicate this on the Opt-Out Form that your student was provided or contact your child's school counselor.

October Counseling Events


October is National Bullying Prevention Month

Schools, organizations, and communities across the Country are raising awareness about bullying prevention and teaching students how to respond effectively. Information will be provided through the morning announcements and school-wide activities throughout the month.

Unity Day 2019

We will make it ORANGE on October 23rd to show that we are "together against bullying. United for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Red Ribbon Week 2019

We will celebrate Red Ribbon Week from October 28th through November 1st. More information will be provide on the morning announcements


High School Specialty Program Lessons

Counselors will visit with 8th Grade Civics classes during the month of October to provide students with information about high school specialty programs.  Students and parents are also encouraged to check out the High School Transition section of the Counseling Page.
